Forever Young Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!  The month of March is crazy with birthdays so I thought that I would get a head start on my birthday cards.  I made this card using the Forever Young Cricut cartridge.  The purse shaped cardbase I created with my Gypsy.  I found this card on another blog and I apologize as I don't remember where...thank you to whom ever designed this card...I absolutley love it!  This card is for a good friend of mine!

Quick Referral Cube

Happy Wednesday!  I thought that I would share with everyone some notes that I refer to frequently when cardmaking and scrapbooking. I have printed the following notes on paper and put them in an old picture cube to keep close by so that I can refer to them at a glance.

A2 Size Card:
For a standard A2 size card (fits in an A2 size envelope) start with an 8.5" X 11" piece of cardstock and cut in half the short way so that you have an ending size of 8.5" X 5.5" (I hope I said that the right way?)  Score and fold at 4.25" and you have your card.

A9 Size Card:
For an A9 size card (fits in an A9 size envelope) start with an 8-1/2" X 11" piece of cardstock and score and fold in half the short way so that your card base measures 8-1/2" X 5-1/2" (I'm not sure if I'm saying that right...I always learned them as a hamburger or hotdog fold...do a hamburger fold :)

Square Card:
For a 4-1/4" square card, start with an 8-1/2" X 4-1/4" piece of cardstock and score and fold in half the so that your card base measures 4-1/4" X 4-1/4".

Mat Sizes:
I always go a 1/4" bigger or smaller for my mat depending on the type of mat.
The mat size for an A2 size card is 4" X 5-1/4".
The mat size for an A9 size card is 8-1/4" X 5-1/4".
The mat size for a 4-1/4" Square card is 4" X 4".
If you are putting a mat under a 4X6" picture cut the mat at 4-1/4" X 6-1/4" (I order my pictures from shutterfly and my 4X6" pictures always come as a 4" X 5-7/8" picture so I cut my mat at 4-1/4" X 6-1/8").  Then if you choose to add another mat behind the first mat, cut mat #2 at 4-1/2" X 6-1/2".

Gift Card Envelope:
If you are trying to make an envelope to hold a gift card, I use the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge.
The envelope is on page 79.
Use the Tall Ball setting and cut at 3-3/4".
This will hold a gift card perfectly.

Please comment with any helpful notes, tips, or tricks that may help fellow crafters!

Haul Video

Hi Everyone!
On Sunday, my son and I enjoyed the Central WI weather of 50 degrees...it was GORGEOUS!!  We not only went to Best Buy to purchase a video camera, but we also made a stop at Michael's.  Lots on sale...here's what we found (Please excuse my raspy voice...I'm just getting over a nasty cold).

Unfortunately on our way out, I had my hands full with both my son and my purchases, I fell off of the curb and rolled my ankle.  Not sure if it's broken or not...I can walk on it but it's swollen and starting to bruise.  I might give it a couple more days before I go in! :(

I Bought a Video Camera...YAY!!!

I went shopping yesterday and bought myself a video camera so that I can start making videos to share with all of you.  Once I figure out how to use it I will start filming...STAY TUNED!!!

Valentine's Crayon Goodie Box

Happy Valentine's Day!
Here is a Crayon Goodie Box that I made for all of my nieces and nephews.  I am entering this in the Scrappy's Mom Challenge http://scrappymoms-stamps.blogspot.com/
and the Creative Cutter Room Challenge http://www.creativecutter.org/

Recipie:
1. Using Tags Bags Boxes and More, cut the crayon box on page 129 using the widnow feature at 8-3/4".

2. The cricut cuts marks to show where to score. Using a bone folder and ruler or scor-pal, score all of the lines.
3. I save any and all clear plastic wrappers and that's what I use to cover my windows.  In this project, I used a wrapper from a pack of stickers that I bought a Michales on clearence.  Cut the plastic to fit the window a little big and glue to the inside (the side opposite of the score marks).
4. Fold all of your score lines using a bone folder for a nice crisp fold.
5. Using the Love Struck 2010 Cricut cartridge and some scraps of cardstock, cut the candy hearts out...some at 2-1/4" and some at 3".
6. Using a pink sharpie marker I added stitching around the front of the box for an added effect.
7. Next, using Stampin' Dimensionals from Stampin' Up and some regular adhesive, I glued the hearts to the Crayon Box.
8. Finally, using Scor Tape I glued the Crayon Box together (Be sure to use a strong adhesive to hold your box together).
9. Embellish and fill with your favorite goodies!

Hope you have a great day and get something special from your Valentine!

Sweet Dreams Scrapbook Page

I am expecting Baby #2 in April and I'm trying to get a head start on his (It's A Boy!) scrapbook before he arrives, so that I am not overwhelmed when the time comes. Here is a page that I made to capture those precious moments when he is fast asleep and dreaming!
The Lamb and the Sweet Dreams was cut using Create-A-Critter Cricut Cartridge.

In case you haven't noticed...Create-A-Critter is by far my most favorite cartridge!

Hope you enjoyed...thanks for stoppy by!
